CAN THE TAX OFFICE LOSE YOU YOUR JOB
Hi All

I am in the uk, and I have a problem, I was sacked from my last job, no police called and no ban on me.

I just accidently forget to pay for a very small cheap item with the rest of my shopping, some thing I know loads of people have done.

anyway I got sacked for gross miss conduct because I could not prove my inasence, I paid a solicitor to help me appeal but al thought he believed me he said they went by there book so I lost the appeal.

What I am trying to say is, to get a job I have had to lie about he the last 15 months and denigh my last job was there, and say I was just lady of leaser at home with my guy looking after me, witch was true because I don't really have to work because he has his own busyness.

I now after 6 months have got a real nice job I love, but like I said I did not say my last job.

the question I am asking is, will they try to find out or can they find out I am lieing and sack me.

i really like this job.

Hello Chelsie,
I don't know how the laws work in the UK but yes, here in the US you can be sacked for falsifying a job application. When you sign that application, you are attesting to truthful information. Employers here can check with the payroll tax division and check your information.

Hi

Thanks for your replie, tell me why would a company check up on you anyway if you passed the interview and they gave you the job.

I have to lie because who will employ me on record that I was sacked from last job,
really bad people seem to get other work, and I am not bad I just did a accident but could not prove it.

I really like this job and I have done nearly 2 weeks.

how long would you say I would have to work to say I was safe.

Thanks chel

Re: tax
They may hire you because they like you and feel that you can do the job. They may start the process then. It takes weeks sometimes to gather the information. Personally, I wouldn't say that you are ever safe from being found out. They can check on you at any time. Mostly it will depend on you, your work habits and how well you do your job.

Thanks again for replieing,

sorry my spelling has been poor, getting back to what I was saying.

When I am in a job, I take it to my heart and I become very good at it and never am I late or off,

I will also do more then they want me to do and go in at times I am not paid for, to me a job is very important and I will do my up most best for my employer.

This company is very big and spread out all over the UK, when I am is just a very small part of it 4 staff and 10 other workers, its also very relaxed and friendly.

Re: thanks
I wish you all the luck. Some employer's don't check at all. Maybe yours is one of them.
