Re: Buttons
OK - I've sat watching the 'Proud...Fan' one going round a couple of times. What fan are you???? Can't read it!

Re: Buttons
oh, that's not Terry Pratchett. I know it's hard to read, I'm working on it (expirementing with different texts, 'cause only some turn out clear). It's "Proud Marauders Fan" (Grim and I are Harry Potter Freaks- if you've read the books, at least through 3, preferably all, then we're web-ringed at the bottom Pranksters Inc)

Yes, we're weird like that. We're also mad Elizabeth Peters fans. Which is kind of interesting since she is a big Terry Pratchett fan! Weird, huh?

I like Harry Potter (though I didn't like the film much at all), but who's Elizabeth Peters?

I didn't like the film much? I ADORE HP and I'd be the first to say the film downright sucked.
You don't know who Elizabeth Peters (aka Barbara Micheals, aka Dr Barabara Mertz)?! *gasp* She's not fantasy, but her books rock (especially if you're fascinated by Egypt)! The first in the Amelia Peabody series is Crocodile on the Sandbank and the first in the Vicky Bliss series is Borrower of the Night, but you could safetly start with Street of Five Moons (it's loads better, Borrower wasn't very good, I don't even bother to own it)
Why is it that no matter what site it is we always seem to get way off topic?

Ah - I can read the Marauders button better now...
I'm glad someone else agrees with me about the HP film - I tend to get called a heretic if I dare to say that it wasn't so good. I think that they chose the kids on the basis that they looked the part rather than whether they could act! <mutter grumble>
I'll keep an eye out for EP - although Ancient Greece and Rome are more my forte than Egypt.

Her writing is wonderful, though. She is quite humerous and has unforgettable characters! If you like Harry Potter, you should go to our other site! LOL, we're NUTS about books.
Well, SPF and I both agree that the movie was terrible. But- we have hopes for the second one. We are very curious to see if Kenneth Branaugh can pull off playing Lockhart. But- have you seen the posters? Doesn't Dobby look...weird? Okay, so he's supposed to look weird...but you know!
Hermione, though. I thought that she acted very well. Ron was pale and scary and Harry always grabbed the side of his head when he said his scar hurt.
woo hoo
I'm a JK Rowling fan and the movie was ok in my opinion...Quidditch on screen! Oh the joy! But nobody, *nobody* not even Harry Potter should remain that calm whilst being swung around by the legs by a troll.
Re: Cool.
Oh yeah! We're kind of desperate for members there. Since there is so much HP stuff out there it's really hard to advertise so it just pops up randomly
