Broken (AW)
Darkfang remembered. Remembered before the war, at least, before Master came and took him in. How he got to the village was faint, though. He remembered the lands of Northern Epic in all of their splendid beauty. And he remembered her. He remembered Khilax. And Cruor and Inkjet and Akumu and Rift. Gone where those days. He had refused to erase Khilax from his mind. He had erased, though, the memories from the village and the war. He could not bear them. And oh! What he would give to see his ebony goddess once more! Oh, how he had loved his Khilax. This forest...it was like the one where they had first met, and the human attacked him. He stepped forward among the snow covered ground, pace quickening, pads stepping nimbly across the fluffy, cold, whiteness. He seemed a shadow among the dark trees, but a ghost. Or a demon.
A thousand years, a thousand more,
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars,
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths,
A million names but only one truth to face
A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs,
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
