Bridget's Workshop
It would seem that many of the regulars on this board took Bridget's workshop this weekend. I'd love to hear what you thought of it.
I enjoyed it a lot. Despite my decision to never perform improv again, I did like her three "improv stalls," and keep repeating them to myself. The stalls:
1) Talking about what you're doing or where you are.
2) Talking about someone who's not there.
3) Talking about what you're going to do.
I think it's funny that you can know those things to avoid inside and out, but when you (and I mean I) get onstage, all that great information just flies out the window.
It was great playing with those of you what took the classes.
The class was extra fun because there seemed to be an unusually high number of hotties, too. Well, OK, maybe I won't quit improv just yet.
Bridget is one cool lady. I will miss her so much.
I liked the 3 scene stallers note as well. She also talked extensively about emotional reaction. If you react emotionally and honestly to your scene partner and take that to level 100, your scene will be interesting.
And, have fun! Have fun! Have fun! For some reason, this can be the hardest part for me. I tend to take things quite seriously.
