Birth control
Hey chickies!

Just wondering if you guys get off birth control for competing? Last time I didn't and I'm wondering if it would have made a difference as far as water retention goes?

Thanks!;)

Re: Birth control
It would help control your estrogen levels if you go off (due to the fact the pill adds more estrogen into your system) and in turn make it easier to lean up and reduce water, big time--but the only downfall is the obvious..lol.

LA:)

Re: Birth control
You can't live with or without it:x It is frustrating issue for the females>: Most top (PRO) girls stay away from hormonal anticonception if the want to get ultra lean. I have only used pill for six months and it caused major havoc with my body....I never had cellulite before and after that poof there it was:evil I had to go off it-I was so emotional it was not funny. I basically cried all the time for no reason whatsoever and the fat was pilling on even with healthy eating:x

Re: Birth control
Good ole estrogen:) --ya..most of the pro's don't use any estrogen based meds due to the weight gain & water and fat deposits in the body. Hormones are funny little creatures and one little change can make or break your fat loss efforts--or at least make it more difficult to maintain and keeping losing fat.

Sooo true LA;) On top you get body-types too. Some girls handle it better then others. One of my ex beach partners was actually getting leaner on the same pill as I was..go figure:( For her cravings stoped and the weight started to drop off..I was total opposite:x And yeah it is all about hormones, how to control them and how to get the best out of them...so it is in your favour;)

Re: Birth control
I first got on the pill for acne reasons and I'm afraid if I go off I'll break out like mad. What to do!?:\

I think I might try to get off of it...I just can't imagine the effect of going off and getting back on...ouch!!

Thanks for you input ladies! :)

Re: Birth control
Val..I took my for the same reason, well not as much of acne as very averactive sebum:x ..My hair and face was sooo oily and I started to get blackhead like crazy..no matter how often I cleaned my face or washed my hair!!! Honestly I could have three facial per week just to control it. I was put on Diane-: estrogen based pill and Androcur which contains Cyproterone acetate-It is a derivative of the natural hormone progesterone and is a type of medicine known as an anti-androgen. It basically blocks male hormones such as Testosterone.Well withing one months my skin improved big time,by month two I was free from blackeads and oily hair..my skin was fantastic, smooth as baby bottom, even fine wrinkles seemed to disapear:b No need to have facials at all:D On downside just read my above posts:rolleyes I took it for 6 months and quit. My skin stayed great for long time...so did cellulite:x I would say...depends on your goals and how bad your acne was...sometimes we just have to compromise a bit:\ For my skin nothing worked so dramaticaly like hormones-can't beat it. I eat pretty strict whole year around and my facial skin is oily and I get pimples with each cycle.Sometimes very mild the other times a bit more...nothing major. My BF laughs when I say I am breaking out and all I have is two small zits:\
