Hrm I had heard the EQ2 NDA didn't allow even revealing acceptance, but that could certainly have been wrong :)

Never saw anything saying I couldn't tell you if I was in it, but SOE did make a post on their boards saying not to post if you are in or not on the boards. I think maybe that's where some people are getting the idea that you can't say if you are in or not period. :)

Re: Beta testers Tikno
Ya, I have a friend who has been in beta for months (he was in before it totally opened). He has told me that it is a good game, but not much else. I don't think the NDA prohibits you from saying that you are in, it is just to stop people from giving specific information on the game.

IMHO, it would be STOOPID of SOE to not allow people to say ANYTHING. Word of mouth is still the time-tested method of getting something like this the hype it will need for them to make their money back ASAP. But then again, I think like a musician LOL.

I'm on Beta1 with Jeph and Kushi.

Mostly playing my Sorcerer but sometimes my fighter. All evil toons, so if you're in Freeport, I'm around there.

[19 Sorcerer / 20 Tailor] Cyranith (Dark Elf)
[5 Fighter] Skoriksis (Iksar)

If you need some tradeskill stuff done, let me know.

Beta1 - Barby Fighter, lvl 8, Shattar, in Graystone Yard.

Beta2 - Kerra Scout, lvl 7, Hexx, in Nettleville Hovel.
(Dumped the Kattz toon, missed too much on IoS.)

Skor is a poo ;)

I still love EQ2 even after all the last-minute changes they've done that make Skor rip out all his hair :)

Re: Beta testers Skoriksis
Hehe, yeah, that's why I hate it. My entire Tailoring article has become completely worthless.

Actually, my overall impression of the game is that it feels like CoH set in an EQ world.

Graphically, it is probably one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen. It has a lot of quests and content. The voiceover work on almost all the npc's is great. Oh yeah, did I mention the killer graphics?

My problem with it is that it's simplistic to the point of annoyance. I played a SK for 3+ years. I was an expert on pulling mobs and splitting spawns. In EQ2, that skill is never going to be needed. You know exactly how many mobs you're going to get right when you start combat.

Combat is over so quickly, there really isn't much in the way of tactics. As a mage type class, I basically get 1 or 2 spells off on a mob, then it's over.

On the flip side, I have tried soloing and I really hate being level 19 and getting my arse handed to me by 3 level 12 mobs, or a single level 12 mob that's more of an elite mob for that level. This makes finding any blue cons to solo EXTREMELY hard, since most come in groups.

I really dislike the interface and even after spending hours trying to customize it, I still couldn't find anything I could live with.

The game is 1/3 EQ, 1/3 CoH, 1/3 FFXI and it just doesn't feel like a game that requires a lot of thought or planning. I really had a lot of hopes for the game, but I'm pretty sure I'm going the WoW route when that comes around.

Sorry to be a poo on EQ2, but it's just a personal preference I guess. :)
