--The sun had barely peaked over the mountains and already the sky was vibrant with golds and majestic pinks. Time had worn a look of sorrow permanently on the grey wolf's face. Snow continued her morning trot. She never knew where she was going, never minded, as long as it was away from where she had come from.
--Her brain was deep in thought. Her eyes gazed ahead in a mindless stare. Every day was the same. Nothing new ever happened. It was always the indentical hopeless wandering from her past. Why go on? Was there anything else to do?
--Snow paused. She looked down at the ground. Why go on? Emotionally exhaused, she collapsed onto a thick carpet of snow that coated the ground. Something had to change. She could not go on like this. This sort of afterlife had to have some meaning. Something for her. Anything.
--The sun was still rising, the skies shifting thier morning hues. In the distance, there was suddenly a bright flash of light. Snow jerked her head to look that way, and caught the last of it. When it was gone, what remained in its spot was a solitary leaf, iced at the tip. A sun ray must have caught it and made the flash, Snow concluded. Beyond that lay a new surrounding. It was as if the area had some sort of line drawn that seperated her scenery from this other beyond. Snow raised her head and perked her ears. Fragments of muted sounds from that direction caught her peaked her attention.
--Snow got up and padded to the place where the 'line' seemed to be. She lowered her head and carefully examined the spot with her nose. Indeed, there was a line- a line of urine. Snow could not help but give a wag of her tail with the thought that some other wolf had been here before her to mark this territory line.
--It seemed her wish had come true. Before her lay a vast wolf territory. A new land with new packs, a new life could be layed out for her. Was it too good to be true? But wasn't anything better than where she was in her life now? There was no way that she could pass up this opportunity. In an instant, she had made up her mind.
--Her muzzle raised to the sky and let out a long, lonely howl. It would be impolite not to let these wolves know that she was comming. The sound of her voice echoed through the trees, accompained by faint shrills of bird calls in the distance.
--With a new posture of purpose and fulfillment, Snow jogged forwards. In a few moments, she was well past the borders. She was fully aware that she was tresspassing, but in order to meet and be accepted by the territory's inhabitants, she had to enter first. The slightest of smiles crept upon her muzzle as she went. Her tail waved with excitement and anticipation.
