Am I overtraining and getting armpump?
I race National Offroad races(GNCC, National Harescrambles, National Enduros) and I am usually racing every weekend. I train at least 3 days a week. I run about 10 miles, jumprope, ride stationary bike, lift weights, and several other little things in a day. I always have a problem with armpump that I can cure but only for a few races. Its like when I find something that works it stops armpump only for a while, then it comes back when im still doing what helped me get over it. My doctor had me get some carpal tunnal braces and told me to wear them at night. This is the best thing i found that prevents armpump. But it didnt last very long. Now im getting it again and im still wearing the braces. Do I need to mix it up or something? Is surgery a good option? Is there something the pros do to prevent it besides ride a lot. I ride a lot but it doesnt seem to help me. My doctor said that my arms need to heal between races and that the braces would help that. Do you have any Pro secrets?

arm pump
it may be a couple of things, but you should have a compartment pressure test of your forearms as soon as possible to eliminate compartment syndrome.

If you have eliminated compartment syndrome then you will need to evaluate your riding style, upper body strength, lower body strength, core strength (abs/low back) and nutrition/hydration.

You appear to be working hard off the bike but you may be doing exercises that are causing you problems with your forearms.
Let me know.
