Alta. mom gets conditional sentence for sexual pictures of son on Internet.
EDMONTON (CP) - An Alberta mother has been given a conditional sentence of two years less one day for sending sexual pictures of herself and her young son to a man she met over the Internet.
The woman, who can't be identified to protect her son, pleaded guilty in May.
Court of Queen's Bench Justice Mary Moreau says she took into consideration the fact that the offence happened only once, and that there was no attempt to distribute the pictures on the Internet.
The woman, who uses a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, will be confined to her home at all times except to serve 60 hours of community service.
Court heard the woman had told a psychologist she met her "master," an Ottawa man identified as Thomas, on an Internet chat room specializing in sadism and masochism.
She said he asked her to send him nude pictures of her six-year-old son.
The woman, who no longer has custody of her son, also admitted to performing a sex act on her son, but said she felt it was wrong.
