Info on your character!
Name: Alanna of Trebond, but goes by Alan Potter.
Gender: Alanna is female, Alan is male. So she is a female disguised as a male.
Age/year group: 11, first year
Position: Student
Appearance: She's small for her age, and probably always will be. She makes up for her un-exciting build however with somewhat unusual colouring. Her eyes are a vivid shade of purple that often makes people stare. Those who know her however, or those who have heard of her, know better than that, as Alanna doesn't appreciate being stared at, and will make this known to the starer, often through violent retaliation. Her hair is is also vivid, or would be if it were clean, a bright to dull shade of red. She used to wear it long, and she used to have good hygiene. Both these things changed however when she decided to disguise herself as a boy. The hair was butchered into a really nasty cut. She also stopped washing, and now farts more frequently, all in an attempt to make her disguise more believable.
Background: Alanna's mother died during childbirth, before Alanna was even born. Growing up, there was just her, her twin brother Thom, their recluse of a father, and multitudes of family servants. However, one unfortunate day, Alanna's recluse of a father decided he really should be a little more fatherly, and thought about his children's futures. Alanna, he decided, would do well at the Royal Walrus Watching Academy In Antarctica, whilst Thom would like Hogwarts School of the Brave and the Ignorant. Had he know his children better, he might have understood their displeasure. However, in secret, Thom and Alanna switched places (gender included), and Alanna vowed to become the First Ever Female Wizard, seemingly oblivious to the fact that she could become a witch. She hears from Thom occasionally, who seems happy in his position as a girl, though he is yet to see a walrus in Antarctica. Her father she has not heard from, and assumes he has returned to his study.
Personality: The stereotype says red-heads have a temper, and Alanna is no exception. She blows up after tiny things, such as what someone said, why they have to go somewhere, the shape of someone's nose... Usually she will lash out with violent (either verbal or physical) retaliation, however oftentimes she can be more subtle, and set up elaborate pranks to get them back. She can be a very loyal friend, and enjoys company, because people who enjoy company are more fun to play. She is, however, terrified of someone learning her secret, and will protect it at the cost of friendship. She can change alliances almost instantly, or ally herself with someone she wouldn't usually in order to get at someone else. She is also very willing to try new things, whatever they may be.
Skills: She believes she is very good at being manly, and has developed a fine belch to go with this skill. She is a great secret-keeper, and can be very subtle when the need arrives.
Weaknesses: Alanna is a terrible Quiditch player, so much so that in between team practices she needs remedial lessons. However, as there hadn't been a first year player for over 100 years, and as her last name starts with 'P', and (she believes) because she is so manly, she is the star of the Grinding Floor team. She's also bad at arithmancy and bistromatics, both subjects which require a separate idea of numbers.
