A simultaneous game?
I know it has been tossed around casually at times, but we have yet to see a simultaneous game of Crucible played. Part of the problem has been the complexities involved. I think long term it might be possible to have the dice roller functionality expanded to handle such a thing. e.g. It could be set up so that it doesn't email anyone until everyone has submitted their turn write-up. Though probably it would need to indicate somewhere who has submitted and who hasn't - so that appropriate reminders can be sent to players taking too long!
However, that is a long term solution, and I'm sure Rich has more than enough on his hands than to worry about setting all that up! Hence, we would need a game master. Each turn phase would be sent to him, and he could either simply assemble them all and email them back to everyone, or if he has time, he could take full control of updating the map between phases and such. Perhaps a time limit could be specified to maintain one round per week or so (with exceptions made of course).
I would propose that the intermediate rule set be used so that game play will be simplified a bit to allow everyone to adapt to the simultaneous play a bit easier. Specifically, no techs in use and factions use intermediate abilities instead of advanced.
We need 6 players and a game master - or potentially we could do this with 3 or 4 players and a gm. Any thoughts or interest? I would of course be happy to play, and if no one else is willing, I'd be ok with gm'ing the game - just so long as someone promises to gm another one so I can play!

At least the oddballs still drop in for a chat.
I've been incognito due to an unfortunate hard drive crash. However, with the exact balance of the universe intact, I had just backed up my hard drive to my new computer.
You'd still think that my third most expensive purchase (behind house and car) would be a bit more durable.
