A sad day for all and a testimony
I just logged on a bit ago and was informed by Zodus that Igotya had passed away. I know many of you that played with him were his friends in real life so I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy. I would just like to say I was very impressed with him from the moment he invited my guild into FO. I will truly miss him on the game. I would like to know if anyone knows of a way we can make a permanent memorial on the game to him, other than to keep the alliance alive and well and running as he intended. I know many others are feeling the same sorrow as I am. Sincerely Waranne (Draconis)

I did not know Igotya, except seeing him around here and there. Still, it saddens me to hear of our loss.

very sad news

My heartfelt prayers to all of you who were friends or family...the news has just been passed onto our guild this evening (Black Talons) and on behalf of everyone you are all in our prayers and thoughts. While I only had a few brief msgs ingame w/ Igotya he was certainly always friendly to me and all I knew in this crazy game.

Best wishes to all

Igotya was one of my first contacts in DAOC. Unfortunately I never got the chance to know Igotya well, but I can say that this is a sad day. With Honor, Igotya. With honor.:|

Rest in peace mate
I am so thankful to have got to know you. You were
so dedicated to our allliance - constantly discussing how
we can improve things - get rvr going, powerlevel
sessions. You put so much honor and soul into the
game and were always so kind and respectful of me
and others. I will so dearly miss you. Please find
peace and confort my friend.
It may sound trivial, but I have taken the suggestion
to have an NPC in the new frontiers named after you
and have emailed Mythic with that requests.
I don't know what else to say - other than to express
my utmost sympathy for your family. I am so so
sorry.

Thank you from Igotya's family
I would like to thank everyone for the nice words and the outpoor of sympathy. Shows he was really making good friends while playing this game. He had known he was sick for the last couple months and chose not to tell anyone. I don't think he wanted anyones pity. I know the only reason he had said anything was that his treatments were finally taking a toll on him. I am at my house now but i did find a letter he had wrote that he wanted me to pass on to all of you when the time came. I am fairly sure I will be going by his house tomorrow sometime in the day. I know he really loved playing this game, he only stopped to sleep most times. I only wish I knew how sick he was, so that I would have been able to spend the time with him you were all able too. He always used to tell me to tell you guys to go kill some hibs and mids for him. So please, go kill some for me. It would make him happy I am sure.

Re: A sad day for all and a testimony
When I logged in tonight it was in the middle of a discussion, which left me stunned. I didn't know Igotya very well, but the impression he made was great.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to all Igot's family and friends.

A sad day indeed
I am one who is new to the alliance. The running one liner is that "it's the best alliance in the game". I can say to this point, tis true.

I broke into the middle of the conversation last night, too and it was quite somber. It's a true testament to Igotya to have so many people touched by him through the game. I believe this is what's making this the best alliance in the game.

I am sad, like you all. More than that, I offer up my care and concern to those who Igotya touched in the game and to his family and friends in RL. Death is such a difficult time and I feel somewhat restricted by mere text to offer any kind of support.

So, for what it's worth, in the power of text in cyber land. My heart is with you all...Igotya, I trust that any pain and suffering is gone and that you are watching with a smile as we keep your memory and purpose alive.

Let's get them Hibs and Mids

Its more than just a game, really
I crossed paths with Sadistico a few times early on - answering my questions and what not. He was ever-present in the guild chat and always provided a mature roll model to the alliance. My first opportunity to spend real time with him was when he had a plan to turn a friends epic quest into an alliance event. I had just got my first level 50 toon and was very excited to do the quest.
Nobody but Sadistico showed up... not even the guest of honor. We were disappointed. I was mad. He calmly pointed out that there was a dragon raid going on and assured me we'd get the quest done. So he and I, standing on top of Yarlys hut in West Cornwall, in the dark, without a soul around. We spent over and hour talking about how to make the alliance better. Quests, powerleveling, rvr, website.... I was still just a stranger to him but you sure wouldn't have known that from his actions. He called on his friends as did my guild leader and the quest was successful.
This game is addicting. Like him, I play until I have to sleep. After a hard day at work and the stresses of real life and the constant deluge of inhumane news, the game offers a sanctuary. Killing mobs, hibs, mids offers an escape. But, the game offers much more than that. The real appeal of this game is the opportunity to hang with friends. Folks that give you a little hope for humanity.
I got to hang with Sadistico several more times - at his alliance power leveling sessions and rvr groups. He was always generous and friendly and just by doing that, has affected me in positive ways. It's more than just a game.
I beg all members of the alliance to step forward and live up to his legacy.
Lets make him proud.

a sad day
My sympathies to his family and friends.

While I did not know Billy well, I shed a tear or two upon hearing the news, because it is truly sad when someone is taken from us early. I had occasion to speak with him a time or two and he was always of good humor and impressed me with his leadership.

Farewell, you will be missed

Re: A sad day for all and a testimony
It came as total shock to me of the news of Kaylar's passing.I played a fair bit with him and then his alts in the past ,always chirpy, always pleasant. My deepest sympathies go out to all his friends and family. The one thing I have started to learn from this "game" is that it is more than that. A few weeks ago i told my 12 year old daughter off for spending so much time in chatrooms, and her reply to me was "Well its the same as you do". To a degree I suppose she is right, the game is a giant chatroom with the added bonus of something to do in between. But the news brings to light how delicate life really is and how precious. Im all the way over in the UK and the news bought a thump in my stomach, I suppose among all the waffle , what Im trying to say is, remember that all these characters are people, and when things get heated count to ten, I admit at times I should. And without sounding too cliched "Lets all ty to get along" .
Gonna miss you Kaylar , hope things on the otherside can in some way make up for the way things go down here. My thoughts are with you and your family.
All the best ,

relic
i agree we need to get that relic for him. I feel that Jumala has some plans for all that needs to be done and we need to gather together and give her the support. She and Igotya started this alliance who better to lead us now and know his ways and wishes i ask all to rally to our new leader in support of Igotya.
