A Matter of Time ; [Pack Hunt, All Required]
The small female trembled. Never before had she been able to support herself like this, much more four other wolves that appeared to stand behind her actions so completely. Was this the bliss they said all alphens felt when they realised that they had the power to do good? Maybe so. Or maybe our Evane was simply getting a taste of anxiety.
Today would be the milestone hunt, held when infantile pack-groups reached five members or over, including the alphen. She noted Kenshin, her delta, and the three Iotas eagerly anticipating promotion. It was sad to think that they wouldn't earn one until she was very familiar with them, since most of the hierarchy's rungs were at the top of the ladder rather than all throughout. What she wouldn't give for maybe a step-up rank, so that she could give that kind Saber wolf a well-deserved pat on the back? After all, not all packmembers were as courteous to their leaders - especially when the alphena was younger and smaller than the Iota himself.
Weren't alphens supposed to represent power, strength, and all of that nonsense? How was she supposed to fulfill that natural requirement if she physically couldn't at all... and how would they react when they realised they were all being pushed around by a tiny she-wolf with her head in the clouds?!?!
No. She was overreacting again. Shaking her head, she began to pace along the borders of Subtle Remorse and a nearby woodland, waiting for the others. They knew where to find her. Now it was only a matter of time.
Subtle Remorse was quite an expanded pack land, seeming only the best had come upon these grounds so far. Yet, besides Evane, there were only four of them. Three being wolves, while he standing along being a hybrid. And only one had a rank besides Iota, and that was just from spread rumors that had somehow arrived to his solitary figure. He didn't expect anything more, and feared if he did, calamity would arise. That had happened before, and no matter what he tried, forgivness was an unknown word to them. For now, he'd just had to be satisfied with his position. Who knew, he could be here for awhile more than most packs.
He didn't like to travel the lengthy trails, cringing forests and what not, while leaving every ounce of respect behind, left to blow away and never be noticed again. Many referred to him as a Gyp, or so those who knew him, and only those who found out more and more about him. It'd soon reach the alphess, he was sure of it, but this time he wanted to stay awhile longer, and not have the strain and hassle of another disappearence. He couldn't deny the fact that Evane seemed to atleast trust him this time, unlike the others he had encountered. He couldn't break that just yet. More or less destroy that with all his mishaps.
Saber could tell it was time for the pack hunt. An instructed plan was given to him, informing him of everything, and where to be. He had reached it before, a quaint wood in the middle of everything. His thoughts turned back to the meeting with Evane. Towards the end she seemed hesitant, realizing her true role. Who could blame her? If it was him, he'd be up and packing again. How she even began to understand how to support the pack was beyond him, and he knew he'd never experience it. Not to mention the fact he had no desire to.
As the wood came into veiw, he saw Evane, her back facing away from him. So, like many other times, he had been the first one here. "Hello Evane." That would suffice for the meantime. That is, until the others arrived. Let the hunt begin. Edited by: Saber Axic at: 4/17/04 5:00 pm
Re: When hybrid encounters fear
> Reaver moved silently through the forest. He had been told to meet the pack here for something. His eyes darted around taking in the area. He filled his nose with the scent of the pack lands then caught his alpha's scent he followed it through some brush. There she sat... looking scared. His eyes darted to the other wolf. Taking the male in he wondered if he had scared the alpha.
> He moved forward allowing himself to be seen. "Your alphaship." His french accent following through gently. He nodded his head curtly at the other as he did with all strangers. He sat on the alpha's right side and looked at her his eyes questioning her. "What is wrong Evane?" His words were gently and he tilted his head to the side. Its not healthy for the pack to have a sad alpha. It makes them weaker he knew this from past experince. Now he could only wait for the wolf's answer.
