2 Student Troupes a Night?
In case you didn't know, the SET is booked through MAY. Maybe it's time we slice a little bit out of the current line up and start doing two student shows every other week. Changing the line up of the SET would be a very good thing. The word is people are getting a little bored with the line up right now. It could probably use a spritz of something different.
As much as Josh is going to hate this post, I agree with Mike on this one. Not that the SC cast isn't putting on good shows. They are all very funny. But I feel like I've been seeing the same show for the past however-many months. After all, it is "Student" experimental theater...
Sorry to make you upset Josh... this ones for you:
Hmmm...
I say this alot but, "I can see the arguement going both ways".
Yes, I could see it being good having two student troupes go up. I could also see it being a bad thing. Some people are already showing up later, so they can miss the student troupes.
I like the fact we have a student troupe... a mix of student and pros... and an all pro troupe, followed by a free for all.
Each piece of that line up, serves the students in one way or another. I agree though. I'd like to see some variety.
Any student troupes want to try doing something new in their spots? Try a new format. Make-up one of your own. What about a more 'harold' style format, with games in it?
I'll talk to my team about trying some new stuff, too.
I'm glad you guys want change. Now go out and make some.
Re: Hmmm...
Some variety might be nice. Maybe we could have a week of 2 student troupes once a month followed by the usual lineup. Or maybe, we could reverse the running order one week and start with roulette and end with a student troupe. Something different would be a welcome change from the exact same line up every week.
If people are really showing up late to skip the student troupe then shame on them. However, I know alot of people that just show up late cause their idiots and can't tell time. That being said, I know of a few people who have left after the student troupe finished so it could be argued either way.
Oh yeah, and if you want to see different, make sure you see the On The Rocks show coming up on the 23rd. Different, indeed.
